Camilla: Brother Pheasant's Journey 14

It was a new day.

Dennis woke up and got ready for school like every morning, but once he was out the door he felt the need to take another turn. He took left instead of right and ended up on the little square in the middle of the village.

He saw the flower shop and wondered whether mom had brought the book back. He entered, the shop was open but empty. He looked around where he had found it the first time, but nothing. However, between all the angels, Christmas trees, trolls and reindeer, Dennis noticed a number of small, glass dragons. Many of them. A pink one, violet, white, black, gold. How come he hadn’t seen these ones the last time? He was so mesmerized he didn’t even hear Mrs Wellings approach.

“They’re beautiful, aren’t they. The Dragons.”

Dennis was startled and turned around.

“Mrs Wellings! Didn’t hear you there. I…just wanted to look for a Christmas present for mom.”

“You don’t need the book anymore Dennis.”

“I…ok.”

“Now is the time to start seeing and feeling what you wish to create. I hope you will use all your talents to broadcast something beautiful in this world.”

She walked past him and picked up a Golden Dragon. Put it in his hand.

“This is a Golden Dragon from Atlantis. It can help you when you want to remember forgotten codes.” She walked away and was almost at the counter when she suddenly said “Yeah, yeah” and turned around. She gave him a Black Dragon too.

“This one is quite familiar to you I believe.”

And she was gone.

There were more people like him. And Mrs Wellings was definitely one of them.

He held the two dragons close to his heart.

“Thanks guys”, he whispered.
